During the October-April period of the 2025-2026 water/agricultural year, rainfall across Türkiye increased by up to 75% compared to the same period last year. According to data from Meteoroloji Genel Müdürlüğü, precipitation levels particularly in the Aegean, Mediterranean, and Southeastern Anatolia regions have risen above seasonal norms, marking a highly positive development for the agricultural sector.
The increased rainfall has supported the development of key strategic crops such as wheat and canola, while rainfall levels in the Aegean and Central Anatolia have reached their highest point in the past 11 years, offering a highly encouraging outlook for producers. In addition, rising dam and reservoir levels are expected to provide strong preparation for the upcoming irrigation season.
ETKO welcomes these positive developments in agricultural production and views this data as an encouraging sign for the strengthening of sustainable farming practices.
