
ETKO auditor and certifier Anıl Sayın delivered a presentation titled “Sustainability and Traceability for the Leather Industry” at the IAFLI Congress, held on November 6–7, 2025.
The presentation addressed the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability and provided comprehensive insights into how these principles are applied within the leather industry. Key topics included water and energy consumption in leather production processes, chemical management, wastewater treatment, occupational health and safety, animal welfare, and ethical sourcing practices. In addition, emphasis was placed on the importance of traceability in ensuring that all processes, from the origin of raw materials to the final product, are transparently monitored, including the operations performed and the controls applied throughout the supply chain.
The presentation, which also highlighted ETKO’s certification and traceability practices, was followed with great interest by industry representatives and academics. The event contributed to the international promotion of ETKO’s approach to sustainable and responsible production.
